Our new meeting location at Sonny’s Bar-B-Que drew a crowd of 30 PBCA members Monday, August 17th. The food and service was very good and the large private room made it possible for us to hear what was being said during the meeting. It was also much better than previous locations for getting around and socializing.
We discussed the Open House at the new Mini Cooper dealership, Mini of Pensacola, which was held Saturday, August 15th and was attended by over 20 PBCA members as well as members from the South Alabama and the Mardi Gras MG clubs.
This was a special event for several Mini Cooper clubs and everyone was amazed at the turn out of new Mini Coopers. There were over 100 in attendance and the variety of models and array of special accessories and paint jobs was awesome.
Our classic British cars also drew a good deal of attention and included Tom Schmitz’s 1967 Austin Mini Cooper “S” which was the only Classic Mini in attendance.
Sandy Sansing, dealership owner, presented a sponsor check to SABCC for the October 24th Fairhope British Car Festival. Mini of Pensacola will be the lead sponsor at the show.
The next PBCA Monthly Meeting will be Monday, September 21. Dinner will start at 6 pm and the meeting will begin at 7 pm. The program will be put on by Mike Darby and will be a British Pub Quiz similar to those popular in pubs in Great Britain . Be sure to make the meeting, enjoy the good food and join in on the fun. As always, there will be door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.
