October 15 Back Roads Tour and Appreciation Lunch

In keeping with PBCA members love of combining driving their LBCs with lots of eating, our Saturday October 15th event will be a Back Roads Tour in Baldwin County ending at a local eatery for lunch.  A  portion of the lunch will be covered by the club as appreciation to the members who worked hard to make the 2006 Pensacola Beach Show a success.  We will meet at 11:00 am west of Pensacola at the Tiger Foods parking lot at U.S. Hwy 98 and Bauer Road.  We will proceed via a scenic route and end at Lesters Restaurant at 24821 Canal Road, Orange Beach, AL.  Bring a pencil and your powers of observation as there will be a test with awards to be presented to the most observant.

There will be a charge for lunch of $8.00 per person for PBCA members.  The club will pick up the balance of the check.  Bar beverages will be charged separately and will be the responsibility of the individuals.  This event replaces the "Fish Camp Tour" and $5.00 lunch we used make to Bon Secour, AL, before the Fish Camp was sold to become the site for more condos and the prices of meals in the beach areas began to go the sky.

Set this date aside and get let your appetite grow.

Two Local Car Shows in October

October 21:  Navarre Beach 6th Annual Car Show.  This show is a judged all marque car show taking place at Navarre High School 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Awards are judged on points within classes with First, Second and Third Place Trophies.  PBCAers have made a good turnout for this show every year and they have always welcomed our British cars.  British car awards consist of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place in two classes based on 4 cylinder cars and 6, 8 and 12 cylinder cars.  Navarre High School is just east of Hwy 87 about 1 mile north of US 98 in Navarre on High School Road. There is a stoplight at High School Road.

There will be a caravan leaving at 8:30 am from the small park  on the south side of U.S. 98 at the south end of the Pensacola/Gulf Breeze Bridge.  We will pause at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Gulf Breeze.  (The caravan may be cancelled if it is raining.)

There will be a caravan led by Keith Sanders from the Pensacola Fairgrounds at Mobile Highway (U.S. 90) and Pine Forest Road.  The will leave promptly at 8:00 am.  Anyone wishing to join them enroute, they will proceed on west US 90 to Hwy 59, south to Hwy 104 on the south side of Robertsdale and west on 104 to Scenic US 98 then south to Fairhope.
